    Bernarda Alba

    words and music by
    Michael John LaChiusa
based on the play The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca

Lorca’s final masterpiece is given a driving, rhythmic Spanish-flavored score by The Wild Party composer, LaChiusa, in this beguiling musical adaptation. After the death of her second husband, Bernarda sequesters her five daughters away in mourning. Yet, despite her best efforts, the outside world begins to seep in. Told through the musical passion and power of the castanets, clapping, and stomps of Flamenco.
